Nivedita has practiced extensively many years as a counsel in Supreme Court, High Courts in field of Constitutional, Civil and Criminal Law. Nivedita has served standing counsel for Union of India for the Supreme Court for 5 years . Nivedita has deep interests in social, environmental and human rights issues. She heads the firm Pro-bono practice. Nivedita has some very important land mark cases and orders to her credit. Nivedita was responsible to getbanned unsolicited marketing calls, a national nuisance, alsogot enactedregulation in this behalf.Nivedita has also taken up some very important environment related issues pertaining to preservation and restoration of ground water and was successful in stopping misuse of ground water including ban on digging bore wells for commercial purposes mainly construction work in Haryana by order from Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2012. Ban was thereafter adopted by several other courts including Punjab, Rajasthan Maharashtra and many others. Case continues for developing holistic approach to stopping ground water depletion and replenishing lost water.She was also successful in getting 6000 water bodies in Haryana mapped and identified (first time ever in India) and Government is now in process of restorationof these water bodies, under the supervision of the National Green Tribunal, Delhi. In the same case the tribunal was also pleased extend the scope of the petition to entire India for mapping, identifying and restoring water bodies.Ushering in the era of reversing environmental damage.She also has distinction of being the first lawyer in the country to get an order from the Supreme Court of India to shut down Mobile phone  tower  on ground of serious health hazard (BTS) for a young cancer patient suffering from Non -Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Now the battle continues for policy reform in mobile telephony before the Hon’ble Supreme Court. In addition to her public spirited work Nivedita  also specializes in Media Entertainment law, UrbanRe-Development, Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, telecom, power/energy and is one of the few lawyers in India to have assisted French company on drafting negotiating commercial contract for tapping and transporting  underground gas pipeline project. Nivedita has also done international arbitration and her litigation and arbitration work takes to various high courts across India and cross boarder jurisdictions, but she is primarily is based in New Delhi.

Her International Law practice focuses on inward Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), entry strategies, exchange control regulations and government approvals, incorporation, due diligence, tendering assistance etc.Has been advising large MNCs on inward and outward investments and joint ventures. Has represents large multinational and foreign corporations in India.Nivedita has traveled extensively with in and outside of India. She was also associated with Singapore Government MND (Ministry of National -Development) for providing tendering assistance for urban redevelopment projects in India and for promoting their expertise in urban re-development in India. As a result several state governments are now collaborating with Singapore companies.
