Power Sector

Heading our power sector practice at the firm is Mr Ravi Kumar Ambardar CA with over 25 years of experience. He was part of the core team working with Strategic Services Group for developing turnaround strategy, restructuring of Business verticals and de-risking model for EPC Business of RPG Group of companies. Financial impact $100million. He was also instrumental in introduction of the concept of “Securitization of idle capacities “for the first time in India raising INR 10 million for RPG Transmission (Reported in The Economic Times of 29th June 2000, Business Standard and Financial Express). Later he developed an Optimization Model to allocate and interlink Transmission line Tower Production and Procurement to specific Business Units of Supply chain Business of RPG Group, Savings of $10 million and was part of the core team which handled the merger of RPG Transmission with KEC International and spear-headed the post- merger integration of the merged entity. The synergies from the merger resulted in gains of $100 million to the merged entity.

From 1986 to 1998 he was appointed as Senior Divisional Manager- Commercial & Finance, Projects Division (Power Transmission, Railway Electrification, Electric Sub -stations) KEC International, Head – Internal Audit, Towers Division. He was also from 1998 to 2002: Head – Finance and Commercial of Project Execution (India and SAARC) for RPG Transmission Ltd, New Delhi, i.e for its Power Transmission and Telecom Business which was formerly part of Asea Brown Boveri (ABB Worldwide Group). Mr. Ambardar from 2002 to 2006 was also Head – Finance and Planning- Supply Chain Business (Power Transmission) KEC and RPG Transmission. As you may know KEC International and RPG Transmission are the world leaders in EPC Business in Power Transmission Sector, operating in 36 Countries and part of the RP Goenka Group (RPG Group.) This function included optimizing the supply chain management worldwide.
