Shiv Verma - Associate Partner

Shiv Verma is an accomplished attorney and legal consultant with extensive experience practicing before the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi. He is registered with the Bar Council of Delhi and operates from New Delhi, India. With a dual focus on litigation and legal consulting, Shiv’s practice spans diverse areas including climate technology, biotechnology, corporate legal advisory, dispute resolution, intellectual property management, and compliance. His professional journey is marked by a passion for legal aspects of technology, artificial intelligence, data protection, human rights, and climate change.

Shiv completed his legal education from National Law University, Jodhpur, graduating in 2021 with a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) specializing in Business Law. Prior to that, he completed his matriculation and senior secondary education from Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Currently an independent legal practitioner and consultant based in New Delhi, Shiv has been actively involved in both consultancy and litigation since March 2022. He has collaborated with domestic and international legal professionals in startup acceleration programs, advising on intellectual property, compliance, and strategic business expansion. His legal consulting portfolio includes drafting transactional agreements, policy formation (HR, POSH, IT compliance), and advising on biotechnology data protection under Indian regulations. He has also been involved in leading business negotiations and conducting legal orientations for corporate clients.

In his litigation practice, Shiv has represented clients in a wide range of cases, including maintenance, divorce, domestic violence, insolvency, criminal defense, and property disputes. Notably, he was part of the legal team representing India& first Dalit International Horse Dressage Champion in his fight against exploitation and harassment before the High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court of India.

Before establishing his independent practice, Shiv worked as an Associate at the Chambers of Mr. Amit Gupta in New Delhi from April 2022 to June 2024. During this time, he gained significant experience in civil, criminal, and commercial litigation, arbitration, and constitutional matters. He represented clients before the Supreme Court and High Court of Delhi, addressing complex legal issues such as trademark infringement, commercial arbitrations, criminal defence, and government policy litigation. Earlier, he worked with S & A Law Offices in Gurugram from July 2021 to March 2022, focusing on arbitration and commercial disputes involving international investment, infrastructure projects, and industrial standards compliance.

In addition to his professional practice, Shiv has contributed to legal scholarship by authoring articles on arbitration, corporate governance, intellectual property, and human rights, published in renowned platforms such as Live Law, Taxmann, and Cambridge International Law Journal Blog. Shiv is also committed to social justice, offering pro bono legal services through the Migration and Asylum Project and the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee. He actively advocates for marginalized communities, addressing public interest issues and representing clients assigned by the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee.
