Altaf Hussain Naik- Former Advocate General, Jammu & Kashmir

Altaf Hussain Naik is a Designated Senior Advocate with an illustrious legal career spanning over three decades. Enrolled as an advocate in 1986, he has extensive experience in civil, contractual, constitutional, and arbitration matters across various High Courts and the
Supreme Court of India.
Mr. Naik has successfully argued complex and high-value cases and has over 300 reported judgments in leading legal journals including AIR and Supreme Court Cases (SCC). He is highly regarded for his deep legal acumen, strategic advocacy, and courtroom expertise.
He has advised and represented some of India's largest corporate houses, including ITC Hotels,
Taj Hotels, Reliance, Blue Star, Mahindra, BPL, Go Air, J&K Bank, Escorts Finance, among
others, across diverse legal matters. Between 2003 and 2009, Mr. Naik served as the
Advocate General of Jammu & Kashmir, where he led a team of over 300 lawyers. In this
role, he advised the state government, corporations, and public sector companies on key civil,
criminal, constitutional, and contractual issues. He regularly appears before the Supreme
Court and various High Courts in complex constitutional, corporate, and arbitration disputes.
His experience includes high-stakes arbitration proceedings, financial recovery matters, and
advising clients on intricate legal challenges involving regulatory and constitutional law.
